This week, Fieldstone students participated in a comprehensive anti-bullying workshop designed to equip them with practical tools, shared language, and age-appropriate strategies to foster a safe and respectful school environment.

The workshop was delivered by Brave Education, whose facilitators guided students through meaningful discussions and real-life scenarios tailored to each grade level.

Our youngest learners shared that they now understand how to “walk away, talk away, and block away” when faced with unkind behaviour. They practised using a clear, confident “stop” paired with a safe gesture, reinforcing both verbal and non-verbal boundaries. Grade Two students strengthened these same strategies, while our kindergarten learners emphasised the importance of kindness and speaking up when something feels wrong.

Older students engaged in deeper conversations about the distinction between conflict and bullying. They explored key indicators such as frequency, intention, and impact on confidence. Grade Seven students reflected thoughtfully on how the term “bullying” is sometimes misused, noting that true bullying involves repeated and intentional harm — whether physical or emotional — and that seeking support from trusted adults is essential.

Grade Five students discussed the importance of remaining calm, using a steady and confident voice, and making thoughtful decisions that contribute to a safe school community. Grade Six students examined the impact of bullying on mental health and expressed confidence in using their voices to advocate for themselves and others. Grade Eight students shared that real-life scenarios helped them better understand how to recognise and respond appropriately in complex situations.

At Fieldstone, we are committed to proactive education that strengthens character, empathy, and personal responsibility. We are grateful to Brave Education for delivering impactful, developmentally appropriate lessons that empower our students to support themselves and one another with clarity and confidence.
